On Friday 25th February, 2011, Archbishop Paul Cremona met Mgr Joseph Bonello who has just been ordained Coadjutor Bishop of the Diocese of Juticalpa (Honduras). Mgr Bonello was accompanied by Bishop Robert Camilleri O.F.M. The meeting was held at the Archbishop’s Curia in Floriana.

Saturday 26 February – the sixth General Assembly for youth and their leaders will take place at the Divine Mercy Complex, Naxxar. This year, the Assembly will focus on formation – what it means today and how it can abound. More importantly, the Assembly brings out the unique reality of youth ministry in Malta.

On Tuesday, 22nd February 2011, Archbishop Paul Cremona O.P. visited the University Chapel and addressed a group of Lithuanian students and a group of Maltese students from the group ‘Dawl bil-Lejl’ who were preparing to evangelise at the University that same afternoon. The Archbishop imparted upon them his blessing to go out and evangelise.

New Zealand earthquake
During today’s general audience, the Pope recalled how “a new and powerful earthquake, even more devastating than the one last September, has struck the city of Christchurch, in New Zealand, causing considerable loss of life and the disappearance of many people, to say nothing of the damage to buildings.

On Tuesday, 22nd February 2011, the Archbishop met the Catechetical Commission of Fgura, as part of his pastoral visit in this parish. On the same day, the Archbishop also met the Parish Pastoral Council and the Commission for the Implementation of the Synod of Fgura.

The Secretariat for the Laity is organising a conference on the occasion of World Day for the Laity, on Thursday, 24th February 2011.
