The Archdiocese of Malta urges policymakers to manage the rapid adoption of artificial intelligence in a way that protects people – not replaces them – to ensure workers and vulnerable communities are not left behind.

In a position paper entitled ‘Ethical Adoption of AI: the position of the Archdiocese of Malta’, the Church focuses on three key impact areas – education, the economy and culture – and calls for State-led incentives for businesses to retrain and redeploy employees affected by automation since “AI will revolutionise virtually all aspects of labour and the economy”… Read more »

A mission in ordinary life – Bishop Galea‑Curmi

The Chapel of Our Lady of Manresa, Archbishop's Curia, Floriana

L-omelija tal-Isqof Joseph Galea-Curmi

“Għażel tnejn u sebgħin oħra” (Lq 10:1). L-Evanġelju llum jurina meta Ġesù għażel numru ta’ nies, u “bagħathom tnejn tnejn qablu f’kull belt u post fejn kien sejjer imur hu” (Lq 10:1). L-ewwel ħaġa li tolqotna hu kif Ġesù għażel dawn it-tnejn u sebgħin “oħra”, jiġifieri dawn ma kinux l-appostli, it-tnax, imma kienu nies oħra li għażel Ġesù u li tahom missjoni… Read more »

A word that is light for our lives – Bishop Galea‑Curmi

Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Church, San Ġwann

L-omelija tal-Isqof Joseph Galea-Curmi

“Warrab lejn il-Galilija” (Mt 4:12) L-ewwel kliem tal-Evanġelju tal-lum, skont San Mattew, jurina lil Ġesù jwarrab. Arrestaw lil Ġwanni, u Ġesù, jgħid l-Evanġelju, “warrab lejn il-Galilija”. Mhux spiss li nsibu lil Ġesù jwarrab. Imma r-raġuni għaliex warrab ma kinetx għaliex kien qed jibża’, imma għaliex ra li hemm bżonn imur post ieħor fejn jista’ jaqdi l-missjoni tiegħu aħjar.

Fil-fatt, meta mar lejn il-Galilija, għandna hawnhekk il-kliem ikkwotat mill-Profeta Isaija: “Il-poplu li kien miexi fid-dlam, ra dawl kbir” (Isaija 9:1)… Read more »

Homily of Pope Leo XIV

Dear brothers and sisters,

In one of the Scripture passages we have just heard, the Apostle Paul refers to himself as “the least of the apostles” (1 Cor 15:9). He considers himself unworthy of this title because he had once been a persecutor of the Church of God. Nevertheless, he is not a prisoner of that past, but rather a “prisoner in the Lord” (Eph 4:1)… Read more »
