The Diocesan Ecumenical Commission is organising the third Maurice Eminyan SJ lecture on Ecumenism titled ‘Ecumenical dialogue as a praxis of healing: On the human limits to communion and God’s gift of reconciliation’.

This lecture by Prof. Nadia Delicata presents ecumenical dialogue as a practice of healing for the Church, drawing on perspectives from psychotherapy. The speaker will explain that divisions within the Church are the result of human desires and reactions—such as fear and the tendency to divide things into an “us versus them” mentality in order to protect collective identity and reputation.

This historical division has inflicted trauma within the Body of Christ, hindering the Church from living as one communion and proclaiming the Gospel in its fullness. Through dialogue—built on relationships and mutual trust—the Ecumenical Movement offers a space of hospitality where wounds are uncovered, the truth is told, and forgiveness takes place.

Everyone is invited to this lecture taking place on Friday, November 6, 2026 at 6:30pm, at the Archbishop’s Curia, Floriana.
