LETTER TO PRIESTS IN THE PEOPLE’S REPUBLIC OF CHINA

Made public yesterday was a letter from Cardinal Secretary of State Tarcisio Bertone S.D.B. to priests of the Catholic Church in the People’s Republic of China, for the occasion of the Year for Priests which was called to mark the 150th anniversary of the death of St. John Mary Vianney, the saintly “Cure of Ars”.

“In the Letter that the Holy Father addressed to the bishops, priests, consecrated persons and lay faithful in the People’s Republic of China on 27 May 2007, a number of guidelines are indicated for the future journey of the Church”, explains the cardinal in his letter which was published in Chinese, English and Italian… Read more »

POPE VISITS U.N. FOOD SUMMIT

On Monday, Benedict XVI visited the headquarters of the U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization in Rome, to speak on behalf of all people of the universal right to food. Jesuit Father Federico Lombardi, director of the Vatican press office, affirmed this on Octava Dies, as he analyzed the reasons the Pope was taking part in the world summit for food security.

EU: BUILDING THE EUROPE OF RIGHTS AND VALUES

On Sunday 15th November 2009, Archbishop Paul Cremona OP inaugurated the ŻĦN Cardijn Centre for Education and Recreation at St. Paul’s Bay. The centre managed by Żgħażagħ Ħaddiema Nsara (ŻĦN) and Youtheme will be at the service of young people contributing to their formation and recreative aims.
