THE NEW EVANGELISATION – CHRIST THE KING 2011

On Sunday 20th November 2011, the Church in Malta joined the Universal Church in celebrating the liturgical feast of Christ the King. CHRIST THE KING CELEBRATION FOR CHILDREN

On Saturday 20th November, 2011, Archbishop Paul Cremona O.P. presided over a meeting with children on the occasion of the Feast of Christ the King, at St. Monica School, Birkirkara. The evening programme included dance, singing, drama, moments of prayer, games and the participation of the St Monice choir led by Sr Vania Bonello. Nhar l-Erbgħa u l-Ħamis, l-Isqfijiet ta’ Malta u Għawdex ingħaqdu mal-istudenti li se jiggadwaw mill-Università ta’ Malta fil-ġimgħat li ġejjin waqt konċelebrazzjoni li saret għalihom fil-Konkatidral ta’ San Ġwann, il-Belt. THE EMIGRANTS’ COMMISSION ABOUT THE FIRE IN QUAKERS HILL, AUSTRALIA

When the news of a fire which engulfed a nursing home in Quakers Hill, Sydney, emerged, the Emigrants’ Commission of the Church in Malta communicated with the Dominican Sisters in Blacktown to see if they had news about any Maltese who might have been injured in the fire. ARCHBISHOP THANKS UNIVERSITY’S NEW GRADUATES

On Wednesday 16th November 2011, Archbishop Paul Cremona O.P. celebrated Mass at St. John’s CoCathedral, Valletta, for University students graduating this year. During his message, the Archbishop thanked all those students who will be graduating for the commitment taken through their studies, to help ameliorate our society through their various professions. LEGAL ACTION AGAINST INAPPROPRIATE USE OF THE POPE’S IMAGE

Made public today was the following communique from the Secretariat of State concerning a commercial advertising campaign which makes inappropriate use of an image of the Holy Father.

“The Secretariat of State has authorised its lawyers to initiate actions, in Italy and elsewhere, to prevent the circulation, via the mass media and in other ways, of a photomontage used in a Benetton advertising campaign in which the Holy Father appears in a way considered to be harmful, not only to the dignity of the Pope and the Catholic Church, but also to the sensibility of believers”… Read more »

THREE SEMINARIANS RECEIVE THE MINISTRY OF THE LECTORATE AND THE ACCOLITATE

On Tuesday 15th November 2011, Archbishop Paul Cremona O.P. gave the ministry of the Lectorate and the Accolitate to three seminarians during a celebration held at the Parish Church of Zurrieq. Leonard Mintoff was given the ministry of the Lectorate, whilst Charlon Muscat and Reuben Vella were given the ministry of the Accolitate.

What is lacking? – Meeteen 2011

On Friday 18th November 2011, adolescents, together with the Archbishop, will inaugurate the Christ the King celebrations, during a meeting entitled ‘Meeteen’ which will take place at the Inspire complex in Marsascala between 6.30 p.m. and 9.00 p.m. This year, the theme of this activity is “What is lacking?”; this should help adolescents to focus upon questions concerning their faith.
