The Archdiocese of Malta has appointed George Portanier as the new manager at Holy Family Home in Naxxar, as of 1st June.
Mr Portanier obtained a Masters in Finance and Investment from York University, an MBA from Edinburgh University and a Masters in Economics of Competition Law from the University of Malta. He served as a director on the board of Bank of Valletta plc for more than 20 years. Up to 2002, he served as a member on the board of Portanier Brothers Ltd and was dedicated to running the family business. Throughout his career Mr Portanier held CEO positions in the payments services sector and, more recently, at the Malta Institute of Taxation.
A total of 87 residents reside in Holy Family Home out of a total of 302 elderly citizens who presently reside in the four homes for the elderly which are administered by the Archdiocese of Malta.
