Two members of the Church Youth Commission (KDZ) are representing Malta at an international gathering in Rome, starting off the preparations towards World Youth Day 2013. This gathering comes to an end on Sunday 1st April.

KDZ president, Anthony Mifsud, along with Project Co-ordinator Stefan Busuttil, are taking part in these sessions to lay the groundwork for the international collaboration necessary over the next sixteen months.

The forthcoming World Youth Day will take place in July next year in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Young people from 140 countries are expected to participate in the event, together with Pope Benedict XVI.

International World Youth Day celebrations are organized every two to three years in different cities around the world. During the meetings in Rome, the delegates will also evaluate the last edition held in Madrid last year, which attracted over two million young people; including 700 youths from Malta and Gozo.
