children flee Church attack
A hostage situation in the Sayidat al-Najat Syrian Catholic cathedral of Baghdad Sunday ended when Iraqi police stormed the church. At least seven are dead, and another 20 are wounded.
Jesuit Father Federico Lombardi, director of the Vatican press office, affirmed that the Holy See was following closely the situation that began when gunmen entered the church during the Sunday liturgy and took the congregation as hostages… Read more »

On Friday, 5th November 2010, Archbishop Paul Cremona O.P. will celebrate a Mass during which Rev. Robert Galea will be ordained to the priesthood. The celebration, which begins at 6.30 pm, will take place at St Julian’s Parish Church. The general public is invited to attend and pray for the holiness of all priests, most especially for Rev. On Tuesday 26th October, 2010, Archbishop Paul Cremona OP met the Franciscan Sisters’ Community in Mosta as part of his pastoral visit in this parish. Holy Land
The faithful worldwide are invited to join the 2,000 cities already planning to participate in a day of prayer for peace in the Holy Land. The 3rd International Day of Intercession for Peace in the Holy Land, an initiative organized by several Catholic youth associations, will take place Jan. 29-30.
Last year, some 1,103 cities worldwide joined Benedict XVI, Father Pierbattista Pizzaballa, the custos of the Holy Land, and Archbishop Fouad Twal, the Latin patriarch of Jerusalem, to participate in the prayer for peace… Read more »
