“O Ġesù tiegħi, aħfrilna dnubietna, ħarisna min-nar tal-infern, ħu l-ġenna l-erwieħ kollha, u għin lil dawk li għandhom l-aktar bżonn tal-ħniena tiegħek”. Din it-talba li aħna soltu ngħidu ma’ kull misteru tar-Rużarju ma kinitx fit-talba oriġinali tar-Rużarju, imma hija talba li għandha l-oriġini tagħha proprju fil-ġrajja ta’ Fatima. Hija t-talba li tfisser, fi ftit kliem, il-messaġġ importanti li tat il-Madonna ġewwa Fatima, il-messaġġ li tat lit-tliet itfal: Franġisku, Ġaċinta u Luċia… Read more »

Pope at Audience: How many of us pray to the Spirit?

  Paul VI Audience Hall, Vatican

In our catechetical itinerary on the passion for evangelizing, today we start from the words of Jesus that we have heard: ‘Go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit’ (Mt 28:19). ‘Go,’ says the Risen One, ‘not to indoctrinate, not to make proselytes, no, but to make disciples, that is, to give everyone the opportunity to come into contact with Jesus, to know and love Him freely… Read more »

Help us and be compassionate – Bishop Galea-Curmi

The Chapel of Our Lady of Manresa at the Archbishop's Curia, Floriana

L-omelija tal-Isqof Joseph Galea-Curmi

It-talba, il-karba li għamel dan ir-raġel lil Ġesù kienet: “Għinna u ħenn għalina” (Mk 9:22). Dar-raġel kellu lil ibnu li kellu spirtu ħażin fih. Kien hemmhekk flimkien mal-kotra ta’ nies, u d-dixxipli, u mal-kittieba qegħdin jitkellmu. U Ġesù wasal, kien għadu kif niżel mill-muntanja tat-Trasfigurazzjoni, u jarahom hemm. Dar-raġel ħareġ mill-folla u qallu biex jgħin lit-tifel billi jneħħi minnu l-ispirtu ħażin… Read more »

Lenten Reflections: Ashes

“Trab kont u trab terġa ssir”

Fl-ewwel jum tar-Randan, imsejjaħ ukoll l-Erbgħa tal-Irmied, il-qassis, jew persuna oħra, iroxx ftit irmied imbierek fuq rasna fiċ-ċelebrazzjoni waqt li jfakkarna fil-bidu u t-tmiem tagħna.

Għaliex jintuża l-irmied? Minn xiex inhu magħmul? Friegħi taż-żebbuġ li jkunu tbierku u ntużaw fiċ-ċelebrazzjoni ta’ Ħadd il-Palm tas-sena ta’ qabel jinħarqu u l-irmied tagħhom jintuża f’Ras ir-Randan… Read more »

Lent: a journey in which I discover how good and merciful God is

Holy Lent, 40 days of prayer and penitence, in preparation for the celebration of the Passion, Death and Resurrection from the dead of our Lord, Jesus Christ.  Lent is also a journey that we should experience as a journey of liberation by which we are freed from all that weighs us down and open our hearts to God and our neighbour. Ideally, this journey is based on three practices that are important to the Lord: charity, prayer and fasting, which, if coming from the heart, should make the journey one of conversion and renewal… Read more »
