On Tuesday, 25th May, 2010, Archbishop Paul Cremona O.P. blessed the statue of a sorrowful ‘Mother of God’, situated just infront of the main entrance of Mater Dei Hospital. The statue was unveiled by Health Minister Joe Cassar. The three metre high bronze statue is the work of a 30 year old artist from Qrendi, Christopher Ebejer. The statue was cast at Chetcuti Foundry of Luqa.
