KDZ cordially invites youths to attend the launch of the Maltese version of the World Youth Day theme song, to be held on Friday 18th March, 2011, at noon at Bianco’s, Spinola Bay, St.Julians. This event will be held 150 days to World Youth Day. Over six hundred young people will represent Malta in this international event which will be held in Madrid. This event is expected to draw two million young people from all over the world to the Spanish city for a ten-day celebration of faith and culture.
The official theme song in Spanish was released in November last year, during Pope Benedict’s visit to Barcelona. Immediately after, in Malta, work started on the Maltese edition of this song which will be launched on Friday.
The lyrics were translated to Maltese by Gabriella Farrugia, awarded best Student of Spanish Language 2010, in rhythm with the original score of the song. The Maltese version was professionally recorded at Joe Brown Studios sung by Thea Garrett, Pamela Bezzina and Angela Spiteri.
