On Monday, 24th January, 2011 at 4.00 p.m, the funeral cortege will leave Mater Dei Hospital for the parish of Zejtun, where Archbishop Gerada used to reside.  At 4.30 p.m. it will arrive at Carlo Diacono square and make its way towards the Oratory (near the Parish Church) . The cortege will  be made up of clergy, religious and social movements.  There will be prayers for the repose of the soul of Mgr. Gerada and afterwards he will lie in state until 8.00 p.m.

On Tuesday 25th January 2011, the Oratory will re-open between 7.30 a.m. and 10.30 a.m.  At 10.30 a.m. the funeral cortege will leave from the Oratory to St. John’s Co-Cathedral, Valletta, where the body will lie in state until 2.30 p.m.  At 3.00 p.m. Archbishop Paul Cremona O.P. will preside over a concelebrated mass for the repose of the soul of Archbishop Mgr. Emmanuel Gerada. Afterwards the cortege will proceed to the cemetery of St. Gregory, Zejtun where the body will be laid to rest in the family grave.
