On behalf of the Pope, the Undersecretary of the Pontifical Council “Cor Unum” – the Holy See dicastery responsible for promoting and organizing the charitable works of the Pontiff by means of the many Catholic aid organizations active throughout the world – recently visited Guatemala and Haiti.
A survey took place in order to check the developments of the projects in the areas hit by the earthquake in Haiti and those areas devastated by the floods in Guatemala in 2011, financed by the charity of the faithful united with the Pope. Together with the Apostolic Nuncio, Archbishop Bernardito C. Auzo, various local ordinaries, those in charge of the social pastoral care and of diocesan Caritas and the projects, they visited the affected areas in Haiti and Guatemala.
