HOLY SEE: OVER 2,200,000 FAITHUL “MET” THE POPE IN 2009

An estimated 2,243,900 faithful and pilgrims got to meet Benedict XVI during the public events held at the Vatican or in his residence of Castel Gandolfo in 2009, that is, during general and special audiences, liturgical celebrations and the Angelus. The news was released today by the Prefecture of the Papal Household.

€617,585 RAISED IN AID OF DAR TAL-PROVIDENZA

€617,585 were raised yesterday during the New Year’s Open Day organised by Radio RTK for the Dar tal-Providenza in Siggiewi. This was the largest sum ever collected in fourteen annual editions. During the day, huge crowds filled the big tent in the parking lot of the Home.
