Wednesday June 27 – young volunteers will give a start to their summer experiences with a celebration at St Gregory’s Medieval Chapel in Żejtun. Archbishop Paul Cremona O.P. will symbolically give his mandate to the young people, on behalf of the Church in Malta.

The Gozo Diocese presented a cheque of €20,000 to Fr Martin Micallef, Director of Id-Dar tal-Providenza.  The sum was collected during the RTK4Charity Open Day that is organized annually at the Home in Siggiewi on New Year’s Day by RTK radio. On Tuesday the Vatican announced that as of this July 31, the Vatican Information Service (VIS) will cease to exist as a separate office providing information distinct from the Bulletin of the Holy See Press Office.

Benedict XVI spoke today to participants in the 15th World Seminar for Catholic Civil Aviation Chaplains and Chaplaincy Members, promoted by the Pontifical Council for the Pastoral Care of Migrants and Itinerant People. They were present in Rome for a meeting on the theme of “The New Evangelization in the Field of Civil Aviation”.
