The Pope canonises six new blesseds: the Kingdom of God is built on tenderness and proximity

During the Mass celebrated this morning on the Solemnity of Christ King of the Universe, the Holy Father canonised blesseds Giovanni Antonio Fraina (1803-1888), Kuriakose Elias Chavara of the Holy Family (1805-1871), Ludovico da Casoria (1814-1885), Nicola da Longobardi (1650-1709), Euphrasia Eluvathingal of the Sacred Heart (1877-1952) and Amato Ronconi (c. 1226-c.1292). In his homily, the Pope remarked that the kingdom of Jesus is the “kingdom of truth and life, the kingdom of sanctity and grace, the kingdom of justice, love and peace”, and he commented on today’s readings show how the Lord established his kingdom, how He brings it about as history unfolds, and what He now asks of us…

Din l-attivita’ saret fil-Knisja tal-Ħniena Divina f’San Pawl Tat-Tarġa, n-Naxxar. Din l-attivita’ ġiet organizzata mill-Kummissjoni Djoċesana Tfal (KDT) li ġiet mwaqqfa sitt snin ilu mill-Arċisqof Emeritu stess, u qed tkompli taħdem biex f’kull parroċċa jkun hemm kummissjoni tat-tfal.

On Friday 21st of November, Archbishop Emeritus Paul Cremona met various youth groups around Malta who came together for another edition of MEETEEN, at the Teatru Salesjan, Sliema. Archbishop Paul Cremona thanked adolescents for their spirit and witness. In turn, the young participants thanked Mgr Cremona for his guidance throughout his episcopate.

MEETEEN is an annual occasion at the start of the Christ the King weekend…

Saying people and not money create development, Pope Francis called on Thursday for courageous initiatives to rethink our economic system and not become slaves of money. His remarks came in a video message delivered to participants attending a Festival of Social Doctrine in the Italian city of Verona promoted by the local Church.

The Pope urged people not to become discouraged by the economic crisis but instead turn their energies towards ways of “rethinking our economic model and the world of work.” He warned that “the great temptation” when faced with these difficulties is to concentrate “on tending our own wounds and use that as an excuse to not heed the cry of the poor” and all those who are suffering because they have lost their jobs and the dignity that goes with that…

Pope Francis has made a heartfelt plea to Israelis and Palestinians to put an end to the violence which has plagued Jerusalem and other parts of the Holy Land in recent weeks. His appeal follows an attack on a Jerusalem synagogue Tuesday in which 2 Palestinian men armed with a meat cleaver and a gun killed three U.S.-Israeli rabbis and a British-Israeli man.
