A Theology & Peace Colloquium is being organised titled ‘Paths to Peace: Theological Reflections in a Fractured World’, taking place on Saturday, 9th May 2026 at the Archbishop’s Curia in Floriana, beginning at 9am.

In a world increasingly marked by fragmentation and conflict, the need to reflect seriously on peace has never been more urgent. This colloquium will explore the meaning of peace from a theological perspective while engaging in dialogue with other disciplines, recognising that peace must be addressed across social, political, ethical, and environmental contexts.

The programme includes three sessions focusing on the foundations of peace in Scripture and tradition, the ethical dimensions of dialogue and forgiveness, and contemporary perspectives on peacebuilding. Topics such as interreligious dialogue, forgiveness in the public sphere, environmental justice, and the role of faith communities in promoting peace will be addressed.

Each session will include time for discussion, encouraging active participation and exchange of ideas. The event will conclude at approximately 2:30pm.

The colloquium is convened by Rev. Dr Mark J. Zammit, Head of the Department of Fundamental and Dogmatic Theology at the Faculty of Theology, University of Malta. Participants are kindly requested to register in advance to reserve a seat by visiting: https://www.um.edu.mt/l/cMyGI or by contacting: [email protected]
