The Delegation of Malta and Gozo organised a seminar for SDC Candidates at Dar Betsajda (Malta). This seminar aimed to introduce a group of Aspirants embarking on their candidature, a period dedicated to formation and discernment. A press conference was held and livestreamed from the Holy See Press Office, Via della Conciliazione 54, on the opening of the Second Session of the 16th Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops on Thursday, 3 October, and highlighted the key themes of peace, forgiveness, the role of women, as well as the working methods of the Study Groups.

Two Maltese youths, Mark and Gulia, participated in MED24, an inter-religious conference held in Tirana, Albania, in September. Around 50 young people from all five shores of the Mediterranean attended this meeting that brought together individuals of different backgrounds and focused on fostering a culture of inter-religious dialogue and fraternity to create a more peaceful and just society.
The conference’s main theme revolved around the importance of inter-religious dialogue in the Mediterranean region, with discussions focusing on three key topics: narrative – the personal and collective stories that shape individuals; dialogue – the need for empathic and meaningful dialogue between individuals, cultures and religions; and calling – a call to action to counter injustice and promote peace… Read more »

The Archdiocese of Malta is assisting the Dominican Sisters with the relocation of residents and employees of the Apap Institute care home in Santa Venera following a decision by the religious order to close the establishment by the end of the year.
The Dominican Sisters took the difficult decision to relinquish the running of the home —which accommodates 30 elderly residents— due to the declining number of religious vocations and the substantial investment required to refurbish the 80-year-old building… Read more »
