How do we deal with and communicate a crisis situation? Are there standard strategies? What is the role of the Press Office? These are some of the questions that opened the annual meeting of the Press Officers and Spokespersons of the Episcopal Conferences of Europe.

The second day of the CCEE meeting in Malta started with the media officials sharing and discussing their experiences on how they dealt with crisis situations related to economic and transparency issues, child and sexual abuse, refugee arrivals and the relationship with the institutions. 

Dr Paolo Ruffini, Prefect of the Dicastery for Communication of the Holy See, spoke about the ongoing process of reforming the Vatican’s communications structure and suggested tools for working together to continue the mission of the Church…

On Monday 17th June 2019,  53 participants from 27 European countries and the Holy See arrived in Malta for the annual meeting of media officials and spokespersons of the Bishops’ Conferences (CCEE). The conference is hosted by the Church in Malta and is being held at the Archbishop’s Curia in Floriana.
