A course with hands-on experience for youth leaders

L‑Istitut ta’ Formazzjoni Pastorali qed joffri l‑kors ta’ ‘Adolescent and Youth Ministry’ li se jkun qed jindirizza l‑isfidi li jiltaqgħu magħhom ż‑żgħażagħ illum. Dan il‑kors, li se jibda fit‑30 ta’ Ottubru, huwa mmirat għal dawk li jaħdmu jew jixtiequ jaħdmu mal‑adolexxenti u ż‑żgħażagħ.

New parish priest for Jesus of Nazareth parish in Tas-Sliema

L-Arċisqof Charles Jude Scicluna llejla se jiċċelebra quddiesa fil-bidu tal-ħidma pastorali ta’ Patri Claudio Borg, Dumnikan, bħala kappillan tal-parroċċa ta’ Ġesù Nazzarenu, Tas-Sliema.

Patri Claudio Borg twieled fit‑22 ta’ Awwissu 1963 u trabba fil‑parroċċa tas‑Sacro Cuor, Tas‑Sliema. Huwa studja l‑filosofija fl‑Università ta’ Malta u t‑teoloġija fl‑Università ta’ Bologna fl‑Italja.

Pope Francis grateful for the victims’ courage to speak out so that the Church may take the path of redemption

An independent commission established by French Catholic Bishops and religious has revealed that an estimated total of 330,000 people in France have been victims of sexual abuse within Church as children, and that between 2,900 and 3,200 priests and religious committed these crimes over a period of seventy years.

An estimated 216,000 children were victims of sexual violence by between 2,900 to 3,200 priests, men and women religious in France over the past 70 years. However, when the victims of attacks by “lay people working in Catholic Church institutions” were included, the figure rose to 330,000. These shocking “figures” were released on Tuesday, October 5, in Paris in a Report presented by Jean-Marc Sauvé, president of the Independent Commission on Sexual Abuses in the Church ( CISAE), to Monsignor Eric de Moulins-Beaufort, president of the Bishops’ Conference of France ( CEF), and to Sister Véronique Margron, president of the Conference of Men and Women Religious in France ( CORREF)… Read more »

Completion of structural works at St Michael Hospice

The Archbishop visits the Church property transferred to Hospice Malta for a palliative care complex

Archbishop Charles Jude Scicluna visited the works at the Adelaide Cini Institute in St Venera, which was transferred by the Church to Hospice Malta to establish St Michael Hospice – the first complex in Malta which will provide comprehensive palliative care. The Ħal Għargħur fallacy

It is indeed unfortunate that the sale of a parcel of land in Għargħur by the Church has been twisted and exploited to such an extent that some went as far as accusing Archbishop Charles Scicluna of naivety and, worse, hypocrisy.

This because the Archbishop had the courage to call out the culture of greed and because he made a heartfelt appeal to everyone to give more careful consideration to the type of developments we permit in our towns and villages. 

At no point did the Archbishop in his Independence Day homily state that development in Malta should not take place – as some have sought to portray to further their own ends… Read more »
