Parishes support 1,300 families in need

Il-Ħidma tad-Djakonija fil-parroċċi f’Malta, hija sostenn lil kull min b’xi mod isib ruħu f’sitwazzjoni ta’ diffikultà.  Biżżejjed insemmu li l-parroċċi Maltin, filwaqt li jaħdmu id f’id ma’ entitajiet soċjali – kemm tad-djoċesi kif ukoll tal-istat – immexxija bil-ħidma tal-kappillani, il-kleru u voluntiera lajċi, isostnu madwar 1,300 familja bi bżonnijiet bażici bħall-ikel, ħwejjeġ, affarijiet tal-ħasil u ndafa, bżonnijiet għall-iskola tat-tfal u oħrajn. Youth involvement greater at the community level than in politics

Research by DISCERN on trends among youth

A survey showed that youth have a greater probability of involving themselves at the community level than in politics. Their interest in politics decreases as they grow older. The survey also showed that female youth look at community engagement in a more positive light and participate more than male youth in community initiatives and activities.

L‑Arċisqof Charles Jude Scicluna llejla se jiċċelebra quddiesa fil‑bidu tal‑ħidma pastorali ta’ Patri Joseph Zahra, Dumnikan, bħala kappillan tal‑parroċċa tal‑Madonna ta’ Fatima, Gwardamanġa.

Patri Joseph Zahra twieled fil‑25 ta’ Mejju 1974. Huwa studja l‑filosofija u t‑teoloġija fl‑Università ta’ Bologna fl‑Italja. Beda l‑formazzjoni reliġjuża fl‑1992 fil‑Kunvent tal‑Madonna tal‑Għar, ir‑Rabat, u sentejn wara għamel l‑ewwel professjoni solenni. Strengthening wellbeing not substance use

Church School sector, representing over 55 schools, expresses serious concern on rushing through bill on Cannabis Use

The Secretariat for Catholic Education (SfCE) and the Church Schools Association (CSA) would like to express serious concerns at the direction taken by Government to rush through a bill on cannabis use at the tail end of this legislature. Furthermore, the Government has given very little indication of the feedback received after publishing a white paper in March.
