Everyone involved in the sports sector — including athletes, coaches, club members and sports associations — are invited to take part in the Sports Jubilee, which will be held on Sunday, 20 July 2025, at Dar tal‑Providenza in Siġġiewi.

The Sports Jubilee will kick off with a fun run open to participants of all ages — children, youth and adults — offering two route options: a 1.5‑kilometre course and a 3.5‑kilometre course. The fun run will start at 8am, near the Chapel of St Nicholas (San Niklaw), and will conclude at Dar tal‑Providenza, where the Volleyball Marathon will already be underway in support of the Home’s residents. The aim is for everyone to take part in an activity that brings together physical exercise, resilience, solidarity and hope.

From 9am onwards, the Dar tal‑Providenza car park will transform into a lively hub of sport and social interaction, featuring games and activities for people of all ages. This will complement the efforts of the 40 volleyball players participating in the 53‑hour non‑stop marathon, which will run until midnight on Sunday.

At 9:30am, Archbishop Charles Scicluna will celebrate Mass in the chapel at Dar tal‑Providenza, highlighting the connection between sport, fraternity and faith.

The Sports Jubilee is being organised by the Diocesan Sports Commission, Dar tal‑Providenza and the Savio Athletics Club.

These jubilee celebrations form part of the broader Jubilee 2025 commemorations in the Archdiocese of Malta and the global Catholic Church, where Christians — and all people of goodwill — are invited to be pilgrims of hope in today’s world, through acts of faith, charity and unity.
