He then said to him a second time, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?” He said to him, “Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.” He said to him, “Tend my sheep.”

He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?” Peter was distressed that he had said to him a third time, “Do you love me?” and he said to him, “Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you.” (Jesus) said to him, “Feed my sheep… Read more »

L-omelija tal-Arċisqof Charles Jude Scicluna

Kif indunajtu f’dawn il-jiem qegħdin naqraw siltiet mid-diskors ta’ Ġesù fl-aħħar ċena li nsibu fl-Evanġelju skont San Ġwann. Illum għandna dan il-kliem u din is-silta mill-kapitlu 17. Innutaw li f’din is-silta, għax f’siltiet oħra jissemma b’ismu, l-Ispirtu s-Santu ma jissemiex b’ismu imma nixtieq li nagħrfu l-ismijiet differenti tal-Ispirtu s-Santu f’din is-silta.

Ħin minnhom Ġesù jitkellem dwar il-glorja; il-glorja hi isem ieħor tal-Ispirtu s-Santu… Read more »

Pope at Audience: Are you a disciple of Christ?

Dear brothers and sisters, good morning!

In this series of catecheses that we are undertaking, we place ourselves in the school of some of the saints who, as exemplary witnesses, teach us apostolic zeal. Let’s recall that we are talking about apostolic zeal, which is what we must have in order to proclaim the Gospel.

Today we are going to find a great example of a saint of the passion for evangelization in a land far away, namely the Korean Church… Read more »

“Huma u jħarsu lejh, kien meħud ’il fuq, u sħaba ħadithulhom minn quddiem għajnejhom” (Atti 1:9). Dan hu li naqraw fl-Atti tal-Appostli, l-ispjega ta’ din il-ġrajja ta’ Tlugħ il-Mulej fis-Sema. Meta naraw ir-rakkont ta’ din il-ġrajja, u anke kultant pitturi li jġibu din il-ġrajja, qisu l-ewwel sensazzjoni li nħossu hija ta’ firda: Ġesù qiegħed mad-dixxipli, ikellimhom, jgħidilhom x’għandhom jagħmlu, u mbagħad jinfired minn magħhom, jitla’ ’l fuq u d-dixxipli jibqgħu  jħarsu ’l fuq.

Imma, fil-fatt, aktar ma naqraw ’il quddiem l-Atti tal-Appostli stess, insibu li din il-firda kienet għal ftit mumenti… Read more »
