The Chapel of Our Lady of Manresa at the Archbishop's Curia, Floriana

L-omelija tal-Isqof Joseph Galea-Curmi

“Għandu fih spirtu ħażin” (Mk 3:30). Dan hu li qalu xi kittieba fuq Ġesù, kif naqraw fl-Evanġelju skont San Mark. Nafu li xi kittieba kienu f’polemika ma’ Ġesù fuq diversi affarijiet. Imma hawn jgħidu xi ħaġa ħafna aktar serja: qed jgħidu li għandu fih xitan, li hu jkeċċi x-xjaten “bis-saħħa tal-Prinċep tax-xjaten” (Mk 3:22).

Hi ħaġa serja din, u din qaluha dawk li ġew minn Ġerusalemm, jgħidilna l-Evanġelju, għaliex fil-Galilija, fejn kien Ġesù dak iż-żmien, in-nies kienu pjuttost jilqgħuh… Read more »

  St Peter's Square, the Vatican

Dear brothers and sisters, buongiorno!

The Gospel from today’s liturgy (Mt 4:12-23) narrates the call of the first disciples who, along the lake of Galilee leave everything to follow Jesus. He had already met some of them, thanks to John the Baptist, and God had placed the seed of faith within them (cf. Jn 1:35-39)… Read more »
