Xmun Pietru jiddeċiedi li jirritorna għal dak li kien jaf jagħmel tant tajjeb għall-ħajja tiegħu qabel iltaqa’ ma’ Ġesù. Lil sħabu qalilhom: “Sejjer nistad” (Ġw 21:3). Huma ddeċidew li jmorru miegħu. Ma nafx jekk nesiex li l-Mulej fl-istess xatt ta’ Tiberijade darba kien qallu: “Mil-lum ’il quddiem inti tibda taqbad tistad għan-nies”. Din id-darba kien interessat jaqbad il-ħut.
Jolqotna l-elenku, il-lista li Ġwanni fl-Evanġelju tiegħu, jagħtina ta’ dawn id-dixxipli… Read more »

Losing their lives whilst trying to make a living
Statement by the Justice and Peace Commission on Workers' Day
01/05/2022On this year’s Workers’ Day, the Justice and Peace Commission would like to draw attention once again to the tragic fate of those construction workers who, in a pattern which sadly continues to repeat itself all too often, are losing their lives whilst trying to make a living. Serious workplace injuries and fatalities occur also in other economic sectors such as manufacturing. However, the highest number of workplace fatalities happen on construction sites.
Whilst acknowledging that construction is an inherently hazardous job, as testified also by the 369 non-fatal workplace accidents reported in this sector in 2021, as a country we cannot afford to reach a point where these tragedies are normalised by being presented as faceless statistical numbers… Read more »
Becoming great leaders like St Publius – The Archbishop
Mass on the feast of St Publius
01/05/2022 St Publius Parish Church, FlorianaL-omelija tal-Arċisqof Charles Jude Scicluna
Kemm hi ħaġa sabiħa għal kull wieħed u waħda minna li wara żmien iebes ta’ pandemija qed nerġgħu niltaqgħu biex nagħmlu dan il-pontifikal solenni. Nirringrazzjaw lill-Mulej ta’ dan id-don don li tana b’ San Publiju, l-protos tagħna. Huwa żmien li nerġgħu lura lejn il-mejda li minnha l-Mulej jagħtina l-ġisem u d-demm għażiż tiegħu. L-appell li nagħmel lill-Furjaniżi, bl-interċessjoni ta’ San Publiju, huwa li bi ħġarna nerġgħu lejn dan it-tempju, biex nirringrazzjaw lil Alla ta’ kulma jagħmel magħna u tal-ħniena li juri magħna… Read more »
Transformation with love – Bishop Galea-Curmi
01/05/2022 The Chapel of the Christ the King Convent, Fleur-de-LysL-omelija tal-Isqof Joseph Galea-Curmi
“Il-Mulej dan!” Dan kien il-kliem li qal Ġwanni lil Pietru fl-Evanġelju tal-lum meta ntebaħ bil-preżenza tal-Mulej li qam mill-imwiet u l-bidla li ġabet fost dawn id-dixxipli. Dawn kienu jifhmu fis-sajd, u għalhekk meta qalu li sejrin jistadu, kellhom f’moħħhom li għallinqas jaqbdu xi ħaġa. Imma dawn għamlu l-lejl kollu jistadu u ma qabdu xejn. Imbagħad filgħodu jaraw lil dan ir-raġel – għall-bidu ma għarfuhx li kien Ġesù Rxoxt – u jgħidilhom: “Waddbu x-xibka n-naħa tal-lemin tad-dgħajsa u ssibu”… Read more »
Always protect the Maltese people – Bishop Galea‑Curmi
Mass on the eve of the feast of St Publius

Ħa nibda bit-talba li l-Papa Franġisku għamel fil-grotta ta’ San Pawl, ir-Rabat. Il-Papa mar hemmhekk biex jagħti qima lil San Pawl. Niżel fil-grotta, u hemm ma għamilx diskorsi imma qagħad għal ftit ħin fis-skiet u għamel talba sabiħa ħafna. Fiha qal hekk fuq dak li għamlu l-Maltin fil-ġrajja tan-Nawfraġju: “Qabbdu ħuġġieġa kbira, biex jinxfu u jisħnu. Laqgħuhom b’qalb miftuħa u, flimkien ma’ Publiju, l-ewwel fit-tmexxija u fil-ħniena, sabulhom fejn joqogħdu.” Dan kien il-kliem tal-Papa fit-talba li għamel fil-grotta ta’ San Pawl… Read more »
