Mass on Remembrance Day

  St John's Co-Cathedral, Valletta

L-omelija tal-Arċisqof Charles Jude Scicluna

Din is-silta mill-Evanġelju ta’ San Luqa hi waħda mill-aħħar mumenti ta’ Ġesù qabel jasal għall-Ġimgħa l-Kbira; hu wkoll diskors li jitkellem dwar it-tmiem imma jitkellem ukoll dwar il-kunflitti fl-umanità. Donnu Ġesù jgħaqqadhom it-tnejn li huma, donnu qed jgħid minħabba l-kefrija tal-bnedmin u d-dnub fil-qalb tal-bniedem, il-kunflitti jsiru parti integrali mill-istorja tagħna.   The Chapel of Our Lady of Manresa at the Archbishop's Curia, Floriana

L-omelija tal-Isqof Joseph Galea-Curmi

“Kienu jieklu, jixorbu, jiżżewġu, iżewġu” (Lq 17:27). Dan hu l-kliem li bih Ġesù jiddeskrivi l-ħajja tan-nies fi żmien Noè meta Noe daħal fl-arka biex jeħles mid-dilluvju li ġab qerda sħiħa. U bi kliem jixbhu, Ġesù jfisser ukoll dak li ġara fi żmien Lot, meta Lot ħareġ minn Sodoma. Jgħid Ġesù: “kien jieklu, jixorbu, jixtru, ibigħu iħawlu, jibnu” (Lq 17:28).

Hawn Ġesù qed isemmi affarijiet tal-ħajja ordinarja… Read more »

Psalm: 111 (112):1-2.3-4.5-6

Gospel: Luke 18:1-8

In those days, Jesus told his disciples a parable about the necessity for them to pray always without becoming weary. He said, “There was a judge in a certain town who neither feared God nor respected any human being. And a widow in that town used to come to him and say, ‘Render a just decision for me against my adversary.’ For a long time the judge was unwilling, but eventually he thought, ‘While it is true that I neither fear God nor respect any human being, because this widow keeps bothering me I shall deliver a just decision for her lest she finally come and strike me.’”

The Lord said, “Pay attention to what the dishonest judge says… Read more »
