Gospel: Mt 4:18-22

In those days, as Jesus walked by the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea—for they were fishermen. And he said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you fish for people.” 

Immediately they left their nets and followed him. As he went from there, he saw two other brothers, James son of Zebedee and his brother John, in the boat with their father Zebedee, mending their nets, and he called them. Immediately they left the boat and their father, and followed him.  Read more »

Biography of Patri Donat Spiteri launched

The Faculty of Theology has launched a biography titled Patri Donat Spiteri: Qaddej tal-Kelma ta’ Alla, authored by Rev. Dr Martin Micallef earlier this month.

The book launch was held at St John’s Co-Cathedral’s Oratory.

Lecturers from the Department of Sacred Scripture read biblical passages in Hebrew and Greek, expounding particular biblical texts. The main sections and highlights of this new publication were dwelt upon to the benefit of those present… Read more »

Patriarch Bartholomew I to make historic visit to Malta

His All-Holiness Bartholomew I, Archbishop of Constantinople and New Rome and Ecumenical Patriarch, will make a historic visit to Malta next week during which he will meet refugees as well as the sizeable Orthodox Christian community on the island.
