New Director for the Institute for Pastoral Formation

L‑Arċisqof Charles Jude Scicluna ħatar lil Dun Andrè Zaffarese bħala Direttur tal‑Istitut ta’ Formazzjoni Pastorali. Huwa se jieħu post Dun Jimmy Bonnici li kien ilu jservi f’din il‑kariga mill‑2017.

L‑Istitut ta’ Formazzjoni Pastorali twaqqaf bħala risposta għas‑sejħa li ħarġet mis‑Sinodu Djoċesan tal‑2003 sabiex tiġi promossa u kkoordinata l‑formazzjoni tal‑Insara. L‑għan tal‑istitut hu li jipprepara Nsara għall‑ħtiġijiet attwali tas‑soċjetà tal‑lum. L‑Arċisqof Charles Jude Scicluna ħatar lil Dun Jimmy Bonnici bħala Rettur tas‑Seminarju tal‑Arċisqof. Huwa ħatar ukoll lil Dun Carlo Calleja bħala Viċi Rettur. Huma ser jieħdu post Dun Albert Buhagiar li kien rettur tas‑Seminarju għal ħames snin, u Dun Ronnie Zammit li serva bħala viċi rettur għal erba’ snin.

Dun Jimmy Bonnici huwa mill‑Mosta u ġie ordnat saċerdot fl‑1998. Pakistan: death sentence of Christian couple overturned

A Pakistani High Court on Thursday overturned the death sentence handed down to a Christian couple for alleged blasphemy against the Prophet Muhammad after they spent 6 years on death row.
