Gospel: Mt 10, 34 – 11, 1

Jesus said to his Apostles: “Do not think that I have come to bring peace upon the earth. I have come to bring not peace but the sword. For I have come to set a man ‘against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; and one’s enemies will be those of his household.’

Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me; and whoever does not take up his cross and follow after me is not worthy of me… Read more »

Holy mass on the feast of the Annunciation

The Parish Church of the Annunciation, Ħal Balzan

L-omelija tal-Isqof Awżiljarju Joseph Galea-Curmi

Il-festa tal-parroċċa ta’ din is-sena qed issir f’ċirkustanzi partikulari. Aħna għexna dawn ix-xhur li għaddew, bl-esperjenza tal-pandemija li għadna taħt id-dell tagħha, u dan kien ifisser li ma niltaqgħux fil-knisja għal tliet xhur sħaħ, imma li nistgħu nsegwu l-quddiesa fuq it-televixin jew online. Għalhekk li llum qegħdin miġburin flimkien hija okkażjoni ta’ ringrazzjament lil Alla, u dak li se nagħmlu llum fil-quddiesa u l-pellegrinaġġ hu proprju biex nirringrazzjaw lil Alla permezz ta’ Marija għal dak li għamel magħna matul dawn ix-xhur li għaddew, u nitolbuh ukoll l-għajnuna u l-barka tiegħu għaż-żmien li ġej, għax nafu li għad hemm ħafna inċertezza fuq ix-xhur  li ġejjin… Read more »

L-omelija tal-Arċisqof Charles Jude Scicluna

Malli toqrob it-tifkira tal-patrijarka San Ġużepp — u diversi rħula li għandhom lilu bħala patrun, jew prinċipali jew sekondarju jibdew jiżżejnu bl-armar  — nibdew naraw jinbtu fit-tiżjin tal-festi dawn it-tliet kelmiet: Ite ad Josef (morru għand Ġużeppi). L-ewwel qari li smajna llum jagħtina l-ispjega ta’ minn fejn ġejjin dawn il-kliem li nassoċċjaw ma’ San Ġużepp, l-għarus ta’ Marija Verġni… Read more »

You are the citizens’ guarantee that no one is above the law – The Archbishop to the Malta Police Force

Mass on the 206th anniversary from the founding of the Malta Police Force

  St John's CoCathedral, Valletta

L-omelija tal-Arċisqof Charles Jude Scicluna

Ippermettuli napplika l-kliem ta’ Ġesù lill-appostli għall-membri tal-Korp, ovvjament mhux għall-kummissarju biss, imma għall-membri kollha.

Ġesù jħares lejn l-appostli tiegħu, jifhem li ’l quddiem se jkollhom ibatu ħafna. Fil-fatt, parti kbira mill-Evanġelju li qrajna mill-kapitlu 10 ta’ San Mattew jitkellem fuq il-kuntest ta’ persekuzzjoni. Matul iż-żminijiet il-Knisja għaddiet minn dawn il-mumenti koroh tad-dlam. Parti mid-destin tagħha hu li tilqa’ wkoll ir-rifjut ta’ min ma jridx jaċċetta l-istedina tal-Mulej… Read more »
