St Joseph the Worker: Protector of Life – Homily by the Vicar General

Quddiesa għall-operaturi pastorali fil-Parroċċa San Ġużepp Ħaddiem

  • Omelija tal-Vigarju Ġenerali Mons. Joe Galea Curmi
  • Knisja Parrokkjali San Ġużepp Ħaddiem, Birkirkara
    25 ta’ April 2018

Ftit ġranet ilu, il-Papa Franġisku ppubblika dokument bit-titlu ‘Ifirħu u Thennew(Gaudete et Exsultate). Fih jitkellem fuq is-sejħa tagħna għall-qdusija. Jgħid li l-qdusija mhijiex għax tagħmel xi ħaġa kbira li tissemma, imma għax tgħix il-ħajja ordinarja tiegħek f’għaqda ma’ Alla, miftuħa għall-imħabba tiegħu għax huwa Hu li jsalvana, u b’imħabba kbira lejn l-oħrajn…

The need for responsible dialogue

Statement by the Church Commission for Justice and Peace

  • In view of the current discussions on the amendments to the Embryo Protection Act, the Justice and Peace Commission of the Archdiocese of Malta calls for an attitude of responsible dialogue that veers away from polarised positions but which is focused on the common good of all, without demonising those holding opposing views.

It is not the intent of the Justice and Peace Commission to repeat what the Church has already clearly expressed regarding the proposals…

A pro-life discussion enlightened by the values of the Gospel – The Catholic Action

An appeal by the Catholic Action to Maltese Christians

  • Filwaqt li l-Azzjoni Kattolika Maltija (AKM) ittenni l-pożizzjoni tagħha favur il-ħajja, nixtiequ niġbdu l-attenzjoni dwar it-ton li qed jiġi wżat fid-diskussjoni dwar l-Embryo Protection Act.

B’dispjaċir ninnutaw illi f’diversi waqtiet d-dibattitu dwar din il-liġi qed jieħu t-ton ta’ ġlieda ta’ opinjonijiet. Ħafna drabi l-kliem użat, speċjalment fuq il-mezzi tal-midja soċjali hu ta’ tgħajjir u kliem li jweġġa’ lejn xulxin u lejn il-politiċi involuti fuq iż-żewġ naħat…

The Gospel of the day: 27th April

  • Friday of the Fourth Week of Easter

    Saint John 14:1-6

Jesus said to his disciples: “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You have faith in God; have faith also in me. In my Father’s house there are many dwelling places. If there were not, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back again and take you to myself, so that where I am you also may be…

It is essential to always promote, prioritise and protect the dignity of the human person – President Coleiro Preca

'Every Life Matters' conference was organised by Life Network Foundation and Dar tal-Providenza

  • “L-inklużjoni ta’ persuni b’diżabilitajiet, fil-livelli kollha tas-soċjetà, hija parti sħiħa mill-impenn biex inħaddnu l-valuri demokratiċi, u nissalvagwardjaw id-drittijiet umani universali.” Dan kien wieħed mill-messaġġi li wasslet il-President ta’ Malta, Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca meta għamlet id-diskors tal-ftuħ fil-konferenza “Every Life Matters” fil-Grand Hotel Excelsior. Il-konferenza kellha l-għan li tqajjem għarfien dwar l-inklużjoni u t-theddid li jiffaċċjaw persuni b’diżabiltajiet, li ħajjithom hija mhedda sa mill-bidu tagħha fil-ġuf…

“The four pillars of commerce that honour a country” – The Archbishop to the Chamber of Commerce

The Archbishop celebrates Mass at the Chamber of Commerce to mark the 170th anniversary since its establishment

  • L-omelija tal-Arċisqof Charles J. Scicluna
  • Is-Sala Agostino Portelli, il-Kamra tal-Kummerċ, il-Belt Valletta
    24 ta’ April 2018

Nixtieq nibda din ir-riflessjoni bil-lezzjoni ispirata mill-Evanġelju li għadu kemm ipproklama Fr Thomas More,  mill-kapitlu 10 tal-Evanġelju skont San Ġwann. Ġesù jintroduċi mod kif aħna nagħrfu min hu, nagħrfu l-identità tiegħu, billi jirrepeti kemm-il darba: “Jiena hu r-Ragħaj it-Tajjeb” (Ġw 10:14)…

The Gospel of the day: 26th April

  • Thursday of the Fourth Week of Easter

    Saint John 13:16-20

When Jesus had washed the disciples’ feet, he said to them: “Amen, amen, I say to you, no slave is greater than his master nor any messenger greater than the one who sent him. If you understand this, blessed are you if you do it. I am not speaking of all of you…

Pope Francis will host Chilean abuse victims at his residence

  • “Next weekend, the Holy Father will receive at the Casa Santa Marta three victims of abuse committed by the clergy in Chile: respectively Juan Carlos Cruz, James Hamilton and Jose Andrés Murillo.

The Pope thanks them for accepting his invitation: during these days of personal and fraternal encounter, he wishes to ask their forgiveness, share their pain and his shame for what they have suffered and, above all, listen to their suggestions so as to avoid a repetition of these reprehensible facts…
