Youth of Catholic Action pray for peace at Sunday Angelus

  • Hundreds of boys and girls, members of Catholic Action Rome joined Pope Francis for the Angelus on Sunday. The children were taking part in an intiative called “Caravan of Peace,” processing to St Peter’s Square to bear witness to thir desire for peace.

    After the recitation of the Marian prayer, and following appeals for Afghanistan and for those suffering from leprosy, the Pope welcomed visitors from around the world, with particular greetings for pilgrims from Spain, Slovenia, and Italy.

  • Saint Mark 5:1-20 

    Jesus and his disciples came to the other side of the sea, to the territory of the Gerasenes. When he got out of the boat, at once a man from the tombs who had an unclean spirit met him. The man had been dwelling among the tombs, and no one could restrain him any longer, even with a chain. In fact, he had frequently been bound with shackles and chains, but the chains had been pulled apart by him and the shackles smashed, and no one was strong enough to subdue him. Night and day among the tombs and on the hillsides he was always crying out and bruising himself with stones.

A new Judicial Vicar for the Metropolitan Tribunal of Malta

  • Archbishop Charles J. Scicluna has appointed Rev. Brendan Gatt as the new Judicial Vicar for the Metropolitan Tribunal of the Archdiocese Malta, effective from the 7th January 2018, feast of St Raymond of Peñafort, patron saint of canon lawyers.
