PUBLIC HOLIDAYS ARE DAYS OF REST

Il-Kummissjoni Pastorali fid-Dinja tax-Xogħol, f’laqgħa li kellha, wriet id-dispjaċir tagħha għad-deċiżjoni li ttieħdet dan l-aħħar, li stabbilimenti kummerċjali ngħataw permess li jiftħu f’festi pubbliċi li jaħbtu l-Ħadd. Il-Kummissjoni dejjem sostniet li l-Ħadd huwa Jum il-Mulej, Jum ta’ mistrieħ, Jum tal-familja u Jum soċjali. Għal ħafna ħaddiema, dawn il-festi pubbliċi se jsiru ġranet ta’ xogħol li jkun ifisser anqas mistrieħ u ħin għalihom.

Il-Kummissjoni taf li s-soċjetà Maltija qegħda tinbidel, imma l-valuri, il-kultura, id-drawwiet u t-twemmin tagħna l-Maltin għandna ngħozzuhom u mhux nbiegħuhom… Read more »

Jn 10,31-42

The Jews fetched stones to stone him, so Jesus said to them, ‘I have shown you many good works from my Father; for which of these are you stoning me?’ The Jews answered him, ‘We are stoning you, not for doing a good work, but for blasphemy; though you are only a man, you claim to be God.’ Jesus answered: Is it not written in your Law: I said, you are gods? … Read more »

MESSAGE TO PARISHES BY THE ENVIRONMENT COMMISSION

Resqin lejn l-attivitajiet u ċelebrazzjonijiet tal-Ġimgħa Mqaddsa u kif għamlet fil-passat il-Kummissjoni Interdjoċesana Ambjent tixtieq tappella lil dawk il-knejjes u parroċċi kollha li jorganizzaw dawn l-attivitajiet sabiex waqt li jagħmlu dan, jagħtu xhieda ta’ kif in-Nisrani jħares lejn il-Ħolqien b’rispett lejn il-Ħallieq.

F’Ħadd il-Palm, l-użanza tant għażiża tat-tqassim tal-palm jew weraq taż-żebbuġ  lill-fidili għandha tkun okkażjoni fejn niftakru fid-daħla trijonfali tal-Imgħallem f’Ġerusalemm. M’hemmx għalfejn nużaw ammonti esaġerati minn dawn il-pjanti… Read more »

In all truth I tell you, whoever keeps my word will never see death. The Jews said, ‘Now we know that you are possessed.
