BENEDICT XVI’S PRAYER INTENTIONS FOR FEBRUARY

Pope Benedict’s general prayer intention for February is: “That all peoples may have access to water and other resources needed for daily life”.

IN THE LAST FIVE YEARS TWO THIRDS OF MARRIAGES WERE RELIGIOUS

F’dawn l-aħħar ħames snin, żewġ terżi taż-żwiġijiet li saru f’Malta u Għawdex, jew 66.8 fil-mija, kienu reliġjużi. F’Għawdex biss, iż-żwiġijiet reliġjużi kienu 78 fil-mija. Bejn l-2007 u l-2011 fil-gżejjer Maltin kienu rreġistrati mal-Istat b’kollox 12,148 żwieġ, li minnhom 8,111 kienu reliġjużi. Minn dawn, il-maġġoranza kbira, jew 8,071, kienu bir-rit Kattoliku; l-oħrajn kienu bir-rit ta’ reliġjonijiet oħra.

POPE’S MESSAGE FOR WORLD MISSION SUNDAY 2012

Pope Benedict XVI today issued his Message for World Mission Sunday, to be celebrated in October of this year. The theme of this year’s Message is taken from the Motu proprio, Porta fidei with which Pope Benedict XVI proclaimed the Year of Faith: “called to radiate the word of truth that the Lord Jesus has left us.” The Pope’s Message is divided into four parts, preceded by an introduction that places this year’s World Mission Sunday in the context of the 50th anniversary of the II Vatican Council, the Conciliar declaration Ad gentes, the Year of Faith and the Synod assembly on the New Evangelization… Read more »
