Youth Day celebration on Palm Sunday

Palm Sunday, 17th  April, 2011 – the Day of Youth was commemorated by the Diocese in the Parish of San Ġwann. The celebration was officiated by Archbishop Paul Cremon0a O.P. who blessed the Palm leaves before a procession that took young people from Santa Margerita Chapel to the Parish Church of Our Lady of Lourdes.

Accompanied by thousands of pilgrims waiving palms in memory of Christ’s triumphant entry into Jerusalem, Benedict XVI today asked if the symbolism of today’s liturgy is merely a “ritual” and a “quaint custom.”
