Registration for World Youth Day Madrid is an act of solidarity, for it will help young people from countries with economic difficulties participate in the 2011 event. This is the message of the advertising campaign, featuring about 300 young people from different countries, that was launched last Tuesday to promote registration for World Youth Day Madrid.
The campaign is multilingual (in Spanish and English) and is to be broadcast on the Internet (social networks) and through the media, television and radio. The campaign explains that part of the money raised through registration will go to the Solidarity Found set up to facilitate the participation of young people from developing countries, especially from Latin America.
As participation in the central acts of WYD is free, the campaign aims to raise awareness among young people of the importance of their registration and economic contribution to the Solidarity Found. The some 300 volunteers who took part in the campaign were recruited through Facebook, Twitter and Tuenti. The campaign was shot at Santiago Bernabéu Stadium. It was sponsored by communications companies both in Spain and abroad and will be broadcast during the summer.
