On Friday, 5th November, 2010, Archbishop Paul Cremona O.P. ordained Rev. Robert Galea to the priesthood at St. Julian’s Parish Church.
Fr. Robert Galea who is 28 years old and hails from Ibrag parish commenced his studies in 2003 at the Archbishop’s Seminary in Malta. In accordance with his wish, in 2007, a request was made to Archbishop Paul Cremona by the Maltese Bishop of Sandhurst, Mons. Joe Grech, for Robert to pursue his remaining studies in Australia.
Today, Fr. Robert Galea is an internationally acclaimed singer and songwriter of Christian music. His recordings include three CD’s: the ‘Divine Mercy Chaplet’ (July 2010), and the albums ‘What a Day’ (2008) and ‘Closer’ (2006). He is currently working on a new album due for release in late 2010.
Fr. Robert’s passion is to draw others to the heart of God through his music. He believes that music is an important instrument to help God’s people understand the need for a relationship with God. Whilst greatly appreciating his gift, Fr. Robert recognizes that before everything he is a follower of Christ, a priest and only then, a musician.
Fr. Robert Galea will return to Australia in December, to serve as a priest in the diocese of Sandhurst, Victoria.
