The University Chaplaincy will be dedicating its weekly Wednesday prayer session of 29th January to intercessions for local and global peace.

The deep unrest experienced by our country in the past months has shaken our society. War and humanitarian crisis in countries like Afghanistan and Yemen, ethnic tensions in Ethiopia, insurgency in Burkina Faso, threat of major violence and increased offensives in Libya, dangerous rivalry among the U.S., Iran, Israel and the Persian Gulf, escalating tension between the U.S. and North Korea, renewed disputes between India and Pakistan over the region of Kashmir, crushing poverty and collapsing public services resulting from failed governments in Venezuela, and cracks in the fragile peace between Kyiv and Russia-backed separatists in Ukraine all deeply threaten the well-being of our global community.

While individual and communitarian efforts for reconciliation in practice are key, this is an invitation to call anyone interested in prayer and reflection to get together with a common intention.

All are invited to attend, with refreshments served at 7.30pm and commencement of organised prayers in the Chapel at 8pm. For more information kindly call the Chaplaincy on 23402341.
