On Tuesday, 25th May, 2010, Archbishop Paul Cremona presented prizes to winners of a children’s competition organized by the Diocesan Commission for Children.  This competition was part of the activities organised to mark Pope Benedict’s XVI visit to Malta.  Many drawings, e-cards and writings were submitted by children aged 6 – 12 years.  An audio visual presentation highlighted moments from the warm welcome given to Pope Benedict XVI at St George’s Square, Valletta during his visit in Malta.

The Archbishop urged the children to appreciate their talents and use them positively to share Christian values among their peers.  He also asked them to understand the importance of altruism and appreciate the hard work put into the activities for the public to enjoy.  Finally the Archbishop urged the people present to value the positive moments we lived during the Papal Visit and re-live these moments in our daily life.

Winners were presented with a poster of Pope Benedict XVI and rosary beads.  First prize winners were also given a book about Pope Benedict XVI.
