• 21st November marked the first anniversary of the Diocesan Commission for Children (DCC). An activity was held for the members of the Children’s council and their families on Saturday 22nd November 2009, to celebrate this occassion and also to commemorate the International Day for Children. Archbishop Paul Cremona OP, thanked the members of the commission, members of the Childrens’ Council and their families for realising this important concept within the Diocese. In his message the Archbishop urged children to live life embracing Christian values and thus portray this message to their friends. During this event, the Assistant Secretary of the Children’s council spoke about the DCC’s new website. He explained to Archbishop Cremona how this website came to life.

www.kdt.yolasite.com is a website designed and maintained by the children themselves. Another initiative launched was the new DCC logo which was designed by Elena Xerri – also a member of the Children’s Council. Matthew Gellel and Claire Grima – president and secretary of DCC – gave an overview of what was achieved by the commission during its first year. The Archbishop’s delegate for the commission, Elizabeth Pisani, explained the vision of the DCC. During the coming year the DCC will be focusing its energy in helping parishes organise their own Commission for Children, and understand better ways how to convey the message of mass to children. Ms Pisani thanked everyone for all the help and support towards the DCC.
