Bi tħejjija għall‑ftuħ tas‑sena skolastika 2020‑2021, l‑Isqof Awżiljarju Joseph Galea‑Curmi ltaqa’ mal‑edukaturi l‑ġodda fl‑iskejjel tal‑Knisja waqt seminar online organizzat mis‑Segretarjat għall‑Edukazzjoni Nisranija. Aktar minn 150 edukatur ġdid bdew jaħdmu fl‑iskejjel tal‑Knisja f’din is‑sena skolastika l‑ġdida.

Opening of Church Schools postponed

Statement by the Secretariat for Catholic Education

The Ministry for Education and Employment today announced that in State Schools, educators will be returning on the 28th of September and compulsory school-aged students, that is students attending primary and secondary schools, will return from the 7th till the 14th October. The Secretariat for Catholic Education also received a request from the Malta Union of Teachers to follow the same direction.

Health and safety in schools remains a main priority

Church Schools have been working relentlessly to welcome students and educators in the safest environment possible. In order for this to be done, a lot of work has been carried out and a lot of expenses have been incurred. Church Schools have been holding discussions with the Ministry for Education and Employment, and the Malta Union of Teachers.

The health and safety of all students, staff, their families, and the community at large, remains a priority for Church Schools. The increased community transmission of COVID-19 in recent days is of serious concern. Unfortunately, these circumstances may be precluding the safe physical opening of schools… Read more »

Today, we are commemorating the precious human lives which were cut short during their development, and thus could not be born. They never had the opportunity to show the world their potential. We mourn the loss of these unborn lives, because human life should always be cherished. Their loss is a great loss for us all. 20,000 diaries in aid of Dar tal-Providenza

Għadd ta’ ħaddiema fil‑Kurja tal‑Arċisqof iddedikaw ġurnata tax‑xogħol tagħhom sabiex jgħinu lid‑Dar tal‑Providenza. Dan bħala parti mir‑responsabbiltà soċjali (corporate social responsibility) tal‑Kurja tal‑Arċisqof.

Għall‑attività pparteċipaw madwar 50 impjegat li ppreparaw madwar 20,000 djarju li se jitqassmu ma’ eluf ta’ oħrajn fid‑djar tal‑familji Maltin u Għawdxin sabiex jgħinu lid‑Dar bid‑donazzjoni tagħhom. L‑attività saret fl‑uffiċċji rispettivi u mhux fid‑Dar tal‑Providenza, minħabba r‑restrizzjonijiet tal‑COVID‑19.
