22 entities present position paper on the recreational use of cannabis to members of parliament

An appeal for a mature and researched debate

Twenty‑two entities presented a position paper on the recreational cannabis bill to members of parliament, expressing serious concern about the short and long term effects on society of the proposed legislation and calling for a serious, mature and researched debate on the subject. The proposed bill will be presented today for debate in Parliament.

More than 1,800 vacant places for students in Church schools

Church schools admission 2022 in Malta and Gozo

The Admission Regulations for Church Schools for the scholastic year 2022-2023 will be published on Tuesday 16th November 2021, and are available here. There will be a total of 1,848 vacant places for students (1,596 in Malta and 252 in Gozo). All applications will be accepted online. New committee for the Church Schools’ Association

During the annual general meeting of the Church Schools’ Association (CSA), which represents 55 Church schools in Malta and Gozo, the new members of the committee for the years 2021-2024 were selected.

In recent months the message from several Government officials has been that they have their hands ‘tied’ when it comes to changing certain development plans and policies. This self-freezing attitude is one of choice and is not imposed on them by any legislation. They also choose to take long in making the changes to other plans and policies that they had promised to change. Two new candidates for the priesthood

Two seminarians, who are currently in their fifth year of studies at the Archbishop’s Seminary, will ask Archbishop Charles Jude Scicluna to accept them officially as candidates for the Ordination to the Diaconate and the Priesthood. This celebration will be held on Monday, 1st November 2021, during All Saints Day Mass at St John’s Co‑Cathedral, Valletta, at 6:30 p.m.

Youth involvement greater at the community level than in politics

Research by DISCERN on trends among youth

A survey showed that youth have a greater probability of involving themselves at the community level than in politics. Their interest in politics decreases as they grow older. The survey also showed that female youth look at community engagement in a more positive light and participate more than male youth in community initiatives and activities.

L‑Arċisqof Charles Jude Scicluna llejla se jiċċelebra quddiesa fil‑bidu tal‑ħidma pastorali ta’ Patri Joseph Zahra, Dumnikan, bħala kappillan tal‑parroċċa tal‑Madonna ta’ Fatima, Gwardamanġa.

Patri Joseph Zahra twieled fil‑25 ta’ Mejju 1974. Huwa studja l‑filosofija u t‑teoloġija fl‑Università ta’ Bologna fl‑Italja.
