Auxiliary Bishop Joseph Galea-Curmi inaugurated and blessed Casa Fratelli Tutti, a house which welcomes priests from poor countries who wish to read for a Licentiate in Pastoral Theology within the Faculty of Theology at the University of Malta. Bishops reinstate Sunday Mass obligation

The Bishops of Malta and Gozo have formally reinstituted the obligation on the faithful to attend Mass on Sundays following the withdrawal of the dispensation granted due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a pastoral message, to be read in all churches this weekend to mark the Solemn Feast of the Holy Eucharist, the Bishops said the new instruction, required by Canon Law, takes effect from Sunday 18th June 2023 and applies to all those who are physically capable of attending Mass… Read more »

Mark Pellicano appointed Head of Safeguarding Commission

Archbishop Charles Scicluna has appointed Mark Pellicano as the new head of the Safeguarding Commission of the Archdiocese of Malta, which investigates cases of abuse within Church structures and promotes the wellbeing of children and vulnerable adults.

Mr Pellicano succeeds Andrew Azzopardi, who was instrumental in setting up the Commission in 2015 and recently took up a new role as safeguarding head at the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP)… Read more »

10 adults to receive the sacrament of Confirmation

 Next Sunday, on the feast of Pentecost, ten adults will be receiving the sacrament of confirmation. These adults are from different countries, including Malta, India, Pakistan and Italy. They shall be confirmed in their Christian faith by Auxiliary Bishop Joseph Galea-Curmi during a Mass to be celebrated in the Parish Church of Our Lady of the Assumption in Ħal Balzan at 6:30pm.

The ordination of a new deacon in the Maltese Greek-Catholic parish

On Sunday, 21st May 2023, the Greek-Catholic parish in Malta will have a new deacon.
