Dear brothers and sisters,

Our faces and voices are unique, distinctive features of every person; they reveal a person’s own unrepeatable identity and are the defining elements of every encounter with others. The ancients understood this well. To define the human person, the ancient Greeks used the word “face” (prósōpon), because it expresses etymologically what is before one’s gaze, the place of presence and relationship… Read more »

Ascension of the Lord

Dear brothers and sisters, happy Sunday!

In many countries throughout the world, the Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord is celebrated today.

The Pope: It is Jesus’ love that begets love within us

  St Peter's Square, the Vatican

Dear brothers and sisters, happy Sunday!

Sa mill-ewwel messaġġ tiegħu Urbi et Orbi, il-Papa għażel li jqiegħed il-paċi fiċ-ċentru tal-missjoni tiegħu, hekk kif sellem lid-dinja bil-kliem ta’ Kristu: “Il-paċi tkun magħkom ilkoll!”

Dan il-messaġġ ma kienx sempliċiment slogan biex ta bidu għall-pontifikat iżda linja ċara tal-ministeru, f’liema messaġġ il-kelma ‘paċi’ ntqalet minn tal-inqas 10 darbiet… Read more »
