“Acting with justice, solidarity and farsightedness”. This is the attitude recommended by the Pope to the “civilian authorities involved on several levels”, towards the “exodus” of “those people who leave their land” because of “serious violence, combined with the plagues of poverty and hunger, as well as natural catastrophes and environmental decay”.

It began at a time when the place of woman was the house and the family. A humble beginning: a group of women who would go out everyday, in order to gather the young, and to speak to them of God. CRUCIFIX DESTROYED, CATHOLICS INJURED IN VIETNAM
In Dong Chiem, several Catholics were injured by the police while attempting to keep the authorities from destroying a crucifix in the parish cemetery. The crucifix was destroyed Wednesday with explosives. The faithful attempted to intervene, but hundreds of police accompanying the task force began to beat them. As part of the activities that are going to be organised during his visit, a special celebration for young people will be held at the Valletta Waterfront on Sunday 18th April, 2010. Following this morning’s Mass in the Vatican Basilica, at midday the Pope appeared at the window of his study overlooking St. Peter’s Square to pray the Angelus with thousands of faithful gathered below.
