VATICAN ACCOUNTS COULD IMPROVE IN 2010

The Holy See’s financial situation could improve this year, but the situation continues to be one of “continual difficulties,” the Vatican reports. YOUTHS EMBARK ON PREPARATIONS FOR POPE’S VISIT

On Sunday 24th January, 2010, in preparation of Pope’s Benedict XVI’s visit to Malta, the Diocesan Commission for Youth started a pilgrimage through various localties with replicas of the World Youth Day Cross and Icon. ARCHBISHOP WELCOMES THOSE INVOLVED IN ECUMENICAL ACTIVITIES

On Saturday 23rd January, at the Archbishop’s Curia, Floriana, Archbishop Paul Cremona O.P. welcomed those involved in ecumenical activities in the Archdiocese of Malta. This meeting – the first of its kind – was organized by the Diocesan Ecumenical Commission on the occasion of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity.

THIRD ANNIVERSARY OF ARCHBISHOP PAUL CREMONA’S EPISCOPAL ORDINATION

On the occasion of the third anniversary of his Episcopal Ordination, Archbishop Paul Cremona O.P. will be celebrating a Thanksgiving Mass at St. John’s Co-Cathedral, Valletta, on Sunday 24 January 2010, at 5.30pm.

The following day, the Archbishop will be celebrating his 64th birthday. Mgr Cremona was born on 25 January 1946.

ARCHBISHOP VISITS TARXIEN PRIMARY SCHOOL

On Friday, 22nd January 2010, Archbishop Paul Cremona OP visited Saint Thomas More Primary School in Tarxien.  Currently 232 students attend this school. The Archishop was welcomed in the school yard by the students who sang hymns and recited the morning prayer. As part of the occasion the students collected donations for Dar tal-Providenza.
