On Thursday 20th January 2011, Archbishop Paul Cremona O.P. visited St. Margaret College, Zabbar Primary ‘A’. The school has a population of 468, comprising children from Kindergarten I to Year 2. Zabbar Parish Priest, Fr Sebastian Caruana, and the College Principal, Mr Stephen Cachia, accompanied the Archbishop. The regulations for entry into Church schools have been updated since they were first published in December 2010.
Recently a decision to re-organise some of the Church’s Kindergarten schools was taken by Church School officials and the Heads of the Church Kindergarten schools. The Islamic Research Council of the University of al-Azhar, the highest authority of Sunni Islam, is freezing dialogue with the Vatican in protest of Benedict XVI’s defense of Christians in Egypt.
