On Monday 20th February 2012, Archbishop Paul Cremona O.P. met the community of Cloistered Nuns of St Julians as part of his pastoral visit to the parish. Later on, the Archbishop met the Leaders of the Family and Couples Commission of the same parish.

On Friday 24th February 2012, Archbishop Paul Cremona O.P. will preside over a concelebrated Mass during which two seminarians will ask the Church to accept them officially as candidates for their Ordination to the Diaconate and the Presbiterate. This celebration is being held at Ħal Għaxaq Parish Church at 6.30pm.

This Wednesday, the Universal Church enters the liturgical period of Lent; the 40 days of fasting, prayer and almsgiving, that lead us towards Easter. In his message this year, Pope Benedict called believers to show fraternal concern for one another. His invitation is echoed by the Patriarch of the Holy Land Faud Twal, who asks us not to forget the families struggling to keep a Christian presence alive in the land of Our Lord’s Passion, Death and Resurrection:

Day of prayer and reflection before the Concistory
Friday morning, in preparation for Saturday’s consistory, the members of the College of Cardinals and the new cardinals-elect, including Mons Prospero Grech, met in the Vatican’s New Synod Hall for a day of reflection and prayer, presided by the Holy Father. Benedict XVI had called the day at the beginning of this month.
