The Archbishop reflects: making good and responsible choices

Lenten Reflection 2024

Read more »For 2024, the Bishops of Malta and Gozo are proposing that as a country, and as Christians, we ought to reflect on the five gifts of God that Dun Karm Psaila, the national poet, reminds us of in Malta’s national anthem: sound judgement, mercy, health, unity and peace. This reflection is particularly significant as this year, Malta celebrates 60 years of independence and 50 years as a republic…

One hundred years ago the ‘Bambino Gesù’ became the Pope’s Hospital

The Bambino Gesù Hospital, a reference point for paediatric assistance worldwide, was donated to the Vatican 100 years ago on 20 February. We look back at the hospital’s history and the paternal relationship the Holy Father has with the Rome institution that is known as “the Pope’s Hospital”.

Biblical events and spiritual symbolism inspire new look for the church of The Resurrected Christ in Pembroke

Proġett li ħa diversi snin ta’ ppjanar u xhur ta’ ħidma wassal biex il-Parroċċa ta’ Kristu Rxoxt f’Pembroke issa qed tgawdi minn dehra ġdida bħala parti minn proġett li għandu ħsieb profond li jgħaqqad ir-rakkonti u s-simboliżmi Bibbliċi mal-ħajja ta’ kuljum.

Fil-qofol tal-proġett hemm it-Tabernaklu, li jinsab fiċ-ċentru tal-Knisja. Mal-bibien tat-tabernaklu se jiġu skolpiti għamla ta’ taraġ tal-bronż li jissimbolizza r-rakkont ta’ Natanjel, fejn Kristu qallu: “Għad tara ħwejjeġ ikbar minn dawn, għad tara s-sema miftuħ, u l-anġli ta’ Alla telgħin u neżlin fuq Bin il-Bniedem.”

It-Tabernaklu jinsab f’ċirku tal-irħam ta’ lewn kaħlani, li jissimbolizza l-univers, u jagħti sens tal-infinit u ta’ misteru, bħalma l-bniedem ma jistax jifhem il-misteru tal-Ewkaristija… Read more »

World Day of Social Justice: Why are we here if not to serve humanity?

Five blessings for our country

Pastoral Letter for Lent 2024

The Pastoral Letter by the Bishops

For this year’s Lent, we Bishops are proposing that as a country, and as Christians, we ought to reflect on the five gifts of God that Dun Karm Psaila, the national poet, reminds us of in Malta’s national anthem: sound judgement, mercy, health, unity and peace.

“Guide me in your truth”

The first gift is sound judgement: the ability to understand, recognise and decide to choose good over evil… Read more »
