Life Network launches campaign for better palliative care and against assisted suicide

Life Network Foundation launches Oqtol l-uġigħ, mhux lili a campaign for better palliative care and against the legalisation of assisted suicide.  The campaign calls on the general public to contribute to the Government consultation via a new platform oqtollugigh.org, to ensure their voice in heard.

Oqtol l-uġigħ, mhux lili (Kill the pain, not me) calls on the Government to live up to its manifesto promise to improve palliative care and pain relief, rather than introducing a system of taking the life of the patient, rather than addressing their pain and medical conditions.

The campaign highlights seven key areas of concern in regard to the overall principles of assisted suicide and highlights the flaws in the Government’s proposals… Read more »

Data li sa qabel it-8 ta’ Mejju 2025 kienet komuni biss wara ħadet sinifikat ġdid għaliex Robert Prevost laħaq il-Kap il-ġdid tal-Knisja Kattolika, u issa l-kitba li kiteb fuq il-ktieb tal-Millenium Chapel saret ħafna aktar għażiża għal Fr Hilary Tagliaferro li hu wkoll Agostinjan.

A just and compassionate response to homelessness in Malta

The Justice and Peace Commission of the Archdiocese of Malta expresses deep concern at the recent prosecution of 12 homeless individuals, charged with loitering and begging, simply for not having a fixed address.

This distressing episode has laid bare the alarming reality that our system too often punishes those in need instead of offering a helping hand. As Archbishop Charles Scicluna recently said, housing is not merely a commodity but a fundamental human right… Read more »

Pope at Audience: Looking for meaning in life? Turn to God

  Saint Peter's Square, Vatican City

Dear brothers and sisters,

I would like to look at one of Jesus’ parables again. Also in this case, it is a story that fosters our hope. Indeed, at times we have the impression that we cannot find meaning for our lives: we feel useless, inadequate, just like the labourers who wait in the marketplace, waiting for someone to hire them to work… Read more »

Statement by Archbishop Emeritus George Frendo

I wish to clarify media reports regarding comments I made during a television programme about a recent case of clerical sexual abuse.

While I urged victims to find it within their hearts to forgive the perpetrators of such despicable acts – which is in line with the teachings of the Gospel – I did not in any way seek to convey the impression given by headlines in the media that this should be an alternative to reporting the matter to the relevant authorities… Read more »
