The Patriarch in a meeting with migrants

Patriarch Bartholomew I on 6th December met with a number of migrants from Ethiopia, Sudan, Ukraine, and Eritrea at the Archbishop’s Curia, Floriana. He also met with representatives of NGOs that work with migrants, such as the Migrants Commission, Fr Dijonisju Mintoff from the Peace Lab, and Dr Neil Falzon from the Aditus Foundation. The Bishops were also present for the meeting.

The Patriarch’s visit to Malta begins

Yesterday Archbishop Charles Scicluna and Auxiliary Bishop Joseph Galea-Curmi welcomed His All-Holiness Patriarch Bartholomew I at the Malta International Airport. This morning, the Patriarch and his accompanying delegation were welcomed by the Archbishop and a number of Maltese bishops at the Archbishop’s Palace in Mdina.

During this visit, the Patriarch and the Archbishop discussed a number of themes of mutual interest, including reciprocal Ecumenical relations, the pastoral care of members of the Orthodox Churches in Malta, the use of Catholic Churches for Orthodox Divine Liturgies, the phenomenon of migration and care for the environment, and the promotion of peace in the Mediterranean and beyond… Read more »

Biography of Patri Donat Spiteri launched

The Faculty of Theology has launched a biography titled Patri Donat Spiteri: Qaddej tal-Kelma ta’ Alla, authored by Rev. Dr Martin Micallef earlier this month.

The book launch was held at St John’s Co-Cathedral’s Oratory.

Lecturers from the Department of Sacred Scripture read biblical passages in Hebrew and Greek, expounding particular biblical texts. The main sections and highlights of this new publication were dwelt upon to the benefit of those present… Read more »

Highlights from the 10th anniversary of the Archbishop’s episcopal ordination

Nhar il-Ħamis 24 ta’ Novembru, fl-okkażjoni tal-10 anniversarju mindu ġie ordnat isqof, Mons. Charles Scicluna żar il-Freeport fejn ċċelebra quddiesa f’wieħed mill-imħażen u ltaqa’ mal-impjegati. Il-quddiesa kienet offruta għal dawk li tilfu ħajjithom fuq il-post tax-xogħol. Wara l-quddiesa, l-Arċisqof iddawwar mal-Freeport fejn kellu ċ-ċans jara l-faċilitajiet tal-kumpanija. Stand with Sebħ for the elimination of violence against women and children

From the 25th November until the 10th December, in line with the international 16 days of activism against gender based violence, Fondazzjoni Sebħ is launching a campaign across Malta and Gozo entitled ‘Stand with Sebħ’. Throughout this campaign businesses, organisations and even the general public are encouraged to share the message that they too ‘Stand with Sebħ in eliminating violence against women and children.’
